4 Easy Steps to Clean your Mattress

There are some places in houses where dust stores and can become a great trouble. One such place is a mattress that may also have trapped dust even though the bed sheet is cleaned once or twice a week. For a healthy and good night’s sleep, one must regularly clean their mattress. These steps tips and tricks listed in this blog will help you to clean a mattress in the best possible way:

Step 1: Wash the Beddings

The cleaning begins from washing the beddings. In this step, one has to remove all the sheets, pillow covers, comforter covers and put them in the washing machine. If one has got a mattress protector, wash that too.

Step 2: Vacuum Thoroughly

Don’t forget to thoroughly clean the stitching, corners and sides. Vacuuming is an easy task and unless you have major stains on the mattress, you can vacuum a mattress every month. This will not only keep it clean but also increase the life of your mattress.

Step 3: Spot Cleaning

Spots can be hard to remove. It is best to know what sort of a spot your mattress has and use the most suitable cleaner to remove it. Most people make the mistake of using water directly to wet the area and then rub it using a piece of cloth. This is not exactly the right way to do it since water in more quantity will damp the mattress and it will take it much longer to dry. You have to use less and get more. So, use a cleaning spray and shower the chemical on a fresh piece of cloth and gently blot it.

Step 4: Let it dry

The best way to dry the mattress is by putting it out in the sun and fresh air which will also kill minor germs. If that is not an option, the next best possible way is to sprinkle the baking soda on the mattress and let it do its magic. The more time you give to baking soda, the better it will be. It will also remove all the bad odours from the mattress and make it fresh by absorbing the moisture.  Another way to dry the mattress is by putting it in front of a high-speed fan or a blower so that every last bit of moisture goes away from it.

Once you have done all of it, it will be in your best interest to use a mattress cover that will keep the surface of the mattress safe from any liquid spills. More importantly, it will reduce the chances of dust entering the mattress and all you will need to do is wash the mattress cover and simply vacuum the mattress. Hopefully, these tricks will help you to clean your metres speedily and effectively.
