The incumbent government envisioned to deliver five million housing units with allied amenities to all call citizens in general, and underserved and middle-income communities, in particular. The aim of this project was a comprehensive socio-economic uplift of Pakistanis. Prime Minister of Pakistan has been strived in all possible ways to deliver these housing units which he has committed. For that matter, along with other appreciable steps, another initiative of laying down the apartments in LDA City has been taken, which is under process right now.
To make sure that everything is on track and going on with a fact pace, on 9 December 2021, Director General LDA, Ahmed Aziz Tarar paid a visit to LDA City New Pakistan Apartments. DG LDA reviewed the ongoing construction work on the site. Chief Engineer of LDA, Israr Saeed, gave a briefing on the ongoing construction work on the apartments. He said that, the construction work has been done with a good pace which will be further accelerated. He also opined that LDA City Apartments was a dream of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, which is going to be materialized very soon.
Ahmad Aziz Tarar further explained that four thousand apartments will be constructed in the first phase of LDA City New Pakistan Apartments project. Work is currently underway on 1128 apartments on the site. Citizens will soon be given possession of their apartments. The Punjab Government took a significant and historic step in implementing this plan. This is the first time that government departments and national banks have decided to cooperate with each other to provide housing facilities to ordinary citizens in Pakistan. Despite the increase in construction costs, it will not be a burden on ordinary citizens. This is the first project of its kind in the country for which government resources are not being used, he further added.
The LDA City New Pakistan Apartments Project will be the starting point for a new culture for providing residential housing in Pakistan. It is a high hope that LDA City Apartments Plan will be completed on time and it will be a great contribution in the vision of Prime Minister ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Project’.
