Director General LDA – Data Ganj Bakhsh Flyover Tour

In October, 2021, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar laid the foundation stone of the Sheranwala Gate flyover valuing Rs.5 billion on Thursday and announced to name it after the patron saint of Lahore, Hazrat Ali Hajveri Data Ganj Bakhsh. The Sheranwala Gate is situated in the periphery of historical places like Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore Fort and the Shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) to connect the new and old localities. It was debated that there was a dire need to initiate development work in the walled city and the PTI-led government has taken a lead in this regard. It is expected that after the completion of the development work of this flyover, traffic issues will be catered.

To make sure that everything is going on as per plan, Director General LDA Ahmed Aziz Tarar paid a surprise visit to Data Ganj Bakhsh Flyover Project on 7th December, 2021. While addressing to media, Ahmed Aziz Tarar said that Data Ganj Bakhsh Flyover project will be helpful in solving traffic problems in North Lahore. He further added that the flyover will benefit more than 121,000 vehicles daily. DG LDA directed Chief Engineer LDA, Mazhar Hussain Khan, to complete this project on time.

DG LDA, appreciated the progress of the project and said that this Flyover is a very important and difficult project. However, its completion will bring multifaceted benefits for general public. It is high hope that all ongoing development projects in the city will be completed on time. The hard work of Chief Engineer LDA Mazhar Hussain Khan and his team on this difficult project is commendable. Advising to Tarar Aziz, he said that the work on underground sewerage should be completed expeditiously with flyover.

While giving briefing to DG LDA, Chief Engineer Mazhar Hussain Khan said that roads should be kept clear for traffic with the plan. Replying Rotten sewer lines are being replaced, the project is being worked on day and night and will be completed on time, and a new 36-inch pipeline will be laid to address sewerage problems, Chief Engineer further added. During DG LDA visit, project Director Akbar Hussain along with LDA, Nespak, WASA and concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
