The ground-breaking ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 however work on the project had started way before that. Government appears to be concerned about the timely construction and completion of this project in this regard they have given a completion timeline of 10 months. Assigned companies are working on constructing this flyover, and the relevant signboards have also been installed. However, three alternative routes are available for Canal Road, Defence Road, and Mohlanwal Road Lahore.
