According to world food program’s statistics, in Pakistan, about 43 percent population faces food insecurity and 18 percent don not have access to food. On the Global Hunger Index (GHI), Pakistan is ranked 106 out of 119 countries. The situation is quiet bleak and requires a consistent effort to eradicate hunger.
On one side, Zaitoon is a market leader in land development across Pakistan, a status they have acquired by delivering versatile real estate projects over the years. On the other hand, Zaitoon pledges to serve the community in best possible way. Zaitoon was quick to realize the food shortage and was even quicker to react to it in a positive manner.

Hence, for all those who are not able to manage sufficient food on daily basis, two years back, Zaitoon laid the foundation of ZAITOON MEHMAAN. The aim of this initiative was to provide free hygienic food to all those who find it difficult to make ends meet.
Zaitoon Mehman remains operational 365 days a year and provides free hygienic food to anyone and everyone who visits there. The first ever branch was located at Gajjumata near a factory area, where meal was served to around 2000 people on daily basis. Now, the free food outlet is located new Zaitoon New Lahore City. In addition to this, special arrangements for Iftaari are made during the month of Ramzan.
Menu is rotated throughout the week to fulfil required demand. In addition to this, staff is trained to serve healthy and hygienic food with arrangements for both males and females separately. In Zaitoon Mehman, special services also provided to disabled and senior citizens. Zaitoon Mehman opens its doors daily for everyone, without any restrictions or discrimination.
Not only this, but Zaitoon also has future plans for opening new outlets in several other parts of country. The aim of this welfare initiative is to nurture and build a society that will be in favor of both rich and poor while to provide equal opportunity to live in a secure and comfortable place.
